Brief description
Jubilee 2000’s campaign put the debt question at the forefront of anti-globalisation thinking. But four years on, the burden is as crushing as ever. Following Russia’s 1997 default and Argentina’s 2002 default – now the longest-lasting in recent history – it is clear that paying the debt is not the only option. This seminar will explore the causes of, and the alternatives to, debt payment.
